Installation for the show 'Materialistic' at Mana Contemporary (New Jersey) as part of New York Textile Month.

Composed by fabrics from 'Entrelazado en la Fábrica de Concreto' that spent 9-months at the concrete factory located exposed to extreme elements of heat, rain, snow, and concrete. The fabrics were wrapped around used tires gifted to me by Ecuadorian workers of a tire shop near my studio.

The name of the piece comes from the first law of thermodynamic, which states that energy cannot be created nor destroyed, only transformed. A nod to the transformation experienced by the pieces and the neighborhood where they first lived as part of 'Entrelazado en la Fábrica de Concreto'.
