Entrelazado en la Fábrica de Concreto is an installation in a concrete factory by Fragmentario. With the support of Luis Madera from Advanced Transit Mix and Cornelio Quechotl Valencia from Food Story Supermarket.

It uses dead-stock silk organza, silk habutai and nylon fabrics, which have been dyed with avocado seeds, baking soda, lime juice, vinegar and iron pills to achieve a range of hues. Recurrent materials in Fragmentario’s work in a technique she has defined as “entrelazado”, the Spanish word for both textile interweaving and interleaving. A technique that flirts but never commits to the idea of weaving.

Open to the public on September 19th, as part of New York Textiles Month, alongside a video showcase, it will stay in place until two thousand forever. An uncertain date that will come depending on nature and human activity.

Details:
12m X 3.5m. Deadstock silk organza, silk habutai and nylon dyed with avocado seeds and baking soda, lime juice, vinegar and iron pills.
